Birchbox CEW Prestige Box Review!

When I saw the CEW boxes at Birchbox I was sure I wanted the Mass Appeal box, but I was not quite so sure about this one.  Thankfully, the discount for buying both and a nice coupon code helped me decide to buy this one--and I am glad I did!

It Cosmetics Brow Power Universal Brow Pencil--As someone who lost most of her eyebrows in an unfortunate chemistry accident, I always have to draw mine on.  This was a good product, but I wish it had been wider and a little darker for me, but it worked very well and I was able to use a brush and make it work for me.

Julep Nail Color--I have not bought Julep in a while and I was glad to see that I have a lovely minty green color!  I had seen other pictures with pink polish and I was hoping for something a bit different.

Julep Cuticle Oil--What a nice product!

Elizabeth Arden Prevage Anti-Aging Triple Defense Shield Broad Spectrum SPF 50--Wow!  This is a very long name for a product!  I just wish the sample size was a little larger so that I could really try it out.  It is hard to see results if you only use it once or twice.

LA Fresh Eco-Beauty Oil-Free Face Cleanser--Good travel products!

Living Proof Prime Style Extender--I will be saving this for when I straighten my hair--it rarely happens, but when I do it, I like it to stay straight for a while.

Birchbox CEW Mass Market Box Review!

This is my first time buying special edition Birchboxes, and I am thrilled!  The items are either full sized or deluxe and most will be used right away!

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain--I already was a huge fan of this product and as I have paid full price for it before, I was super thrilled to get a full sized balm stain in this box!  My lips love this stuff!

Burt's Bees Ultimate Care Hand Cream--My hands are saying thank you over and over!

Nivea A Kiss of Olive Oil & Lemon Moisture Rich Lip Care--This will be perfect for dealing with dry lips in the coming winter months!

Olay Pro-X Spot Fading Treatment--Finally!  I have been wanting a treatment like this and have been getting lots of BB, CC, and DD creams instead!  All I really need is a great treatment.

Simple Revitalizing Eye Roll-On--What lady wouldn't want their eyes not to betray their tiredness?  Not this lady! 

L'Oreal Paris Infallible Eyeshadow--This was a miss for me.  I am not an eyeshadow person, but even if I was, I do not think red eyeshadow would be my choice.  Had this been another color I might have made it into a liner, but this will be going to someone else.

Looks like either an Urban Decay lipstick or Noya lip balm!

Although some Ipsters seem unhappy with the idea of a lip balm as an or product for lip stick, I can totally see it--some people prefer a much more natural or simple look and do not like lipstick.  Hopefully, everyone will get a product that works for their style--and remember, the bag is a great value at only $10 and free shipping!  For five items, it is a great steal!

Glossybox July 2013 Review!

Well, Glossybox did not quite equal the level of last month, or come close to beating July's Blush Mystery Beauty Box, but I was pleasantly surprised with what I did receive.  I like the types of products Glossybox includes, but their sample sizes just do not seem to warrant their price when compared to the other sample boxes.

This month's theme was le Grand Bleu--an homage to the deep blue.

Brazilian Blowout Acai Deep Conditioning Masque--I love hair masks, my wavy to curly hair needs hydration and I love that it includes protein--that seems to make a big difference for my hair!  I know some bloggers do not like getting widely available products like this in a box, but come on--hair masks are great and not everyone has tried this brand.  Had it come in a Birchbox or Ipsy bag people would have been thrilled!

Bvlgari Eau Parfumee au the Blanc Shampoo and Shower Gel--I found this scent a couple of years ago and I like it, so I am happy to try another product.  It is too bad that Glossybox is sending out multiple samples of this same fragrance--I know each sample has been of a different product, but for those who did not like it the first time, it must be very disappointing.

Evologie Intensive Blemish Serum--I was a little surprised at the small size of this sample, but it actually is 1/3 of the full sized product, so it is worth over $11.  I look forward to using this the next time one of those nasty blemishes decides to visit me!

Figs and Rouge Cherry Blossom Tinted Lip Balm--I love this product from the UK!  It smells great, feels great, and has a great look!  It is 100% natural too!  Thanks Glossybox for sending us a product that has featured in your UK boxes--I feel a little tiny less jealous.

Nails Inc. Baker Street Nail Polish--I love blue nails, but I think I have received a few too many of them recently--perhaps subscription boxes need to choose another color?

Nicka K New York Absolute Make-up Cleansing Tissues--I wish I had these for my last trip.  While this is the cheapest item in the box, and thus was included as a "bonus", I think it is a sample that everyone will use.

Blush Mystery Beauty Box July 2013 Review!

I think the Blush Mystery Beauty Box is my favorite box this month--Glossybox is still to come, but it would have to be extremely good (hint, hint) to equal this one!  It has almost $200 worth of product!  I think I will use everything too--how often can we say that about a sample box?

Full Size Emani Organic Lip Shine in Blush--Yummy!  Tastes great and is a wonderful shade that would look good on anyone!  It is great to get a color like this instead of always a very bright color--seems to be all I have been getting recently!

Full Size Deborah Lippman 3D Holographic Luxurious Nail Color in Ray of Light--I have always wanted to try this brand!

Full Size Lumene Vitamin C+ Pure Radiance 24H Lotion--Most facial lotions are a no go for me--itch and rash within minutes, but this lotion from Finland is wonderful!  A big hit with me!  Take note sensitive girls!

Full Size Philip B. Self Adjusting Hair Spray--I love the idea of a buildable hair spray full of good stuff that will not flake or become crunchy!

Full Size Hydroxatone AM/PM Anti-Wrinkle Complex SPF 15--Wow!  A $50 product in a sample box--that is something!

Full Size Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Glow Pad Anti-Aging Exfoliating Self-Tanner--These sound great, but they are made for your face, and I do not need a tan face, maybe I will use them on my arms to lessen my "farmer's tan"?

Sample Bioelements Quick Refiner--This is a nice gentle peel, but you need to protect your skin after using.

Birchbox July 2013 Review Part Two!

My family's second Birchbox for July arrived today--it seems very late for them!  This month's theme was Power Play and one item per box was selected by the people behind the TV show Suits.

Benefit Cosmetics Ultra Radiance Facial Re-Hydrating Mist--This had literally one pump in it--the smallest sample outside of a perfume sample that I have ever seen.  I was excited about this product, but my goodness--who could figure anything out with that small of a sample?

Kerastase Bain Chroma Riche Shampoo--Two large foil packets is always way better than one!

Whish Shave Crave Shaving Cream--Not excited to get this AGAIN!

IPSY July 2013 Review Part Two!

Demeter Salt Air Roll-On Perfume Oil--Love This--I think I might actually have to use the ipsy code this month and buy more roll on perfume oils!  I am super sensitive to fragrances and to products, but this is not causing me any problems!

Pop Lip Crayon in Fuschia Flirt--This was a little bit of a let down in that it was the same color as the first bag, but it is a nice bright summer shade.

Big Sexy Hair Weather Proof Spray

Coola Mineral Moisturiser in Unscented--While I love that it is unscented, the sunscreen it contains causes me problems, I am a bit worried about anyone related to me trying this product.

Birchbox July 2013 Review!

I have to admit that I was not looking forward to this month's Birchbox--I found out I was getting another one of the color club polishes that everyone got last time and was more than a little annoying.  Apparently, they had extras and some of us were "lucky" enough to receive them twice--at least it was a different color. 

I recieved the Birchbox and Color Club Wanderlust Collection polish in Pardon My French--the application of these is not as good as most nail polishes I have tried and they only seem to survive for a couple of days--even with the best of top coats--for comparison, one of my IPSY bags had a Zoya polish and it lasts for a week or more.

Glossybox June 2013 Review

Wow!  Glossybox Really Stepped Up Their Game This Month!

 

As a newcomer to Glossybox last month, I found May's Glossybox less than enthralling, and was kicking myself for buying a subscription, but they made up for it big time this month!  Instead of a bunch of creams that made me break out, I received an entire box of goodies that I can use!

 

(I must note that Glossybox's customer service team is wonderful, I wrote to them about my May experience and they gave me glossydots and sent me two products that would work for me--I think they try really hard and want to please their subscribers.)

 

 

This box was the Dallas Shaw Glossybox collaboration--American Beauty Box, and although there apparently was some drama about Bondi nail polishes, I think they did a great job.  This box cost $21, or less with a subscription or coupon code, and contained approximately $45 worth of product.

 

 

What I LOVED: 

Spa Ritual Polish--Where has this been all my life?  It is great--goes on smooth--extremely easy for those of us who are not artists and end up with polish everywhere--and dries fast!

 

 

C. Booth Dry Oil--I have found that oil sprays and blooming bath oils are great for my very reactive skin--I get hives in minutes from most creams.
